The
smoking ban has breathed new life into the decking market as licensees and
landlords turn to timber decking to accommodate smoking customers.
The
UK market has seen a massive cultural shift since smoking was outlawed in
public buildings, creating an enormous open market for outdoor decking and
shelters to accommodate smokers outside pubs and restaurants.
This surge in demand from the commercial market has been enthusiastically
embraced by decking suppliers, keen to benefit from the same growth in sales
experienced by their Irish counterparts after smoking was banned in public
places in the republic in 2004.
